Personal Experience

                                                              My Personal Experience
                                                                       Lion King

My personal experience with theater would be when I went to see my sister star in her role in “The Lion King”
There was a live audience. She played the role of a bird. I have watched the original "Lion King" on television. and DVD a million times! Watching this play onstage was entirely different from the movie screen. The theater was a different reflection. The curtains would open and you would see a different scene every time. The different settings would appear and you would have to watch out the scene to know where the setting was.The acts went along with the same story line in" Lion King" The performance was really neat. You would be drawn into the performance. There was exciting music in every scene. Some one the students even sang in this play. You could tell when they were singing that they had drawn themselves into that scene and was going to that place and time in their mind. Like a story book. The costumes were amazing. The costumes were a work of Art and you could see all the hard work that the students and teachers had put into the whole performance.
The curtains would close and every time it opened you would get excited to know what’s behind it. To me watching this production on theater was most interesting, the students really made the play come to life. It was funny, better drama, and conflict you had a conflict with the Protagonist and Antagonist. The purpose was to have fun and bring this movie to real life.I was so proud of my little sister. She was so excited and I'm glad that I had this personal experience because it made me look at theater in a whole new light. I LOVE IT!!

Unit 1- Introduction. "Appreciating the Arts" By Austin Minton

Hi my name is Austin,

Welcome to my Blog. This is my third year doing home school. and my first Blog. I was born on December 24,1996. I am 15 years old. I live in a small community in called Wingfeild in Kentucky. My family and I are Missionary Baptists and we try to live each day serving the Lord. My Dad is a engineer at Sun Products and is a preacher as well. My Mom set up her own cleaning business and is my teacher for life.I think she has the most important job. I have a little sister named Hanna.I feel very close to my family. I like to spend time with my Dad we go hunting together and we usually cut and stack wood on weekends.I like to help my mom around the house. She usually gives me chores to do.I love to pick at my little sister, she is an easy target, but the truth be told Hanna is the one who lives to taunt me. I have two grandparents who live right next door. They are both very important people in my life as well.I try to go visit them everyday.  We have two dogs. One is a lab named Jade and the other is a Yorkie named Briley. We live a pretty simple life.
My hobbies include writing, telling stories, drawing, swimming, exercising, and spending time with my friends/ family and oh and I like telling jokes. I have always wanted to be a writer or an artist. I have been trying to learn my own style of drawling.I can draw anything, but I haven't really found my trade mark yet. I just keep my options open. I used to be in public school I didn't really like public school. It was so boring and my parents didn't feel like I was reaching my full potential in our school district. Then we  decided to try being Home schooled and we enjoyed it a lot. I enjoy being a part of Bavel and I have learned something new each and every year. I hope you enjoyed learning a little about me!!

“Unit 2 Elements of Music Assignment 2 Blogging my Experiences”

My personal experience with music happened when one day my Grandparents bought a piano that could play different songs. I listened to “Mozart’s Moonlight Sonata” and I got obsessed with this song and the melody. I wanted to learn how to play this song so badly. It made me feel calm, and when I listen to it I could almost fall asleep. This song also had sadness to it to.
This was important to me because I could connect with this song. When I would listen to the melodies and rhythm I could connect with from within and I would have these emotions. Sometimes it would make me feel emotional and still. I am very familiar with Mozart’s work, but this piece is to this day my favorite element of music. Later I learned to play this melody on the piano and I’m pretty good with the starting point. I haven’t gotten thus far yet, but every once in a while I will play this song for my own entertainment. It has a slow, calming tempo with a medium chord to the sound. Learning how to play the first melody of this song has really given me a different look at the musician. I could see how when Mozart was playing, it must have just sent him into a whole other world and mind set. I definitely have a respect for his work. It is not only a key to me, but I see it “Art”. When a song can take you to a different setting in your mind and you can paint your own picture from this beat, to me that is a master peace.

Building To Save Energy

I Chose the Geodesic Dome. I learned that The term is Latin for "earth dividing" The shortest distance between any two points on a sphere. The idea of combining triangles with an arch was pioneered by German Dr. Walter Baversfeild in 1922. However Buckminster Fuller .was the man who convinced the geodesic homes in 1954. These homes where efficient, inexpensive, and durable for 350 dollars. You could build these for an African Family made of a conjured metal dome. These are also used as weather stations. Plastic and fiberglass domes used for sensitive equipment in the arctic region. These are also used for emergency shelters and mobile military housing. Yes, I would live in one of these houses. They are durable and inexpensive. I could build a house like this starting out on my own and be able to afford it, plus I think the Domes look is really cool.

An Architecture Field Trip

Name Building- Ivan Wilson Center for Fine Arts
Architect- ?????
Location- Western Kentucky University
This center has many principles. One would be Pattern because of the pillars, The second thing it has is Symmetry because of the steep and straight roof tops, and the third and last would be rhythm because of the glass windows and the in line in the wall.  I have an Art class at Western this year and I was walking to class when I seen this building and it made me think about my Arts and Cultures Class.I chose this building because of the Architect design. This building really stood out to me that day.It is really funny because that day I can remember taking more interest in the Architect design of all the building in town.It was like this assignment blog was stuck in my head. When I seen the "Ivan Wilson Center for Fine Art" I knew that this was the building I would choose. it stood out to me above all the other buildings because of its design. This Module was really fun and it taught me different elements and principles.I am definitely taking notice to the different Architecture around me.
