Assignment 3 - Blog: Response to the Play

Dearest Friend Faldo,

I am writing to you in regards to the premiere performance I just witnessed. The new play was by Mr. Shakespeare. The Title was called” Romeo and Juliet””
I was in the Indoor Playhouse and Of course being the Lord It was the best seat in the house. I was seated in the stadium. It was a Proscenium theater. The arch was perfectly formed and the stage was separated from the audience. I felt like I was on top of the world. I could see the ground lings and I’m sure the envied me from below.
As I waited patiently for the play to start I enjoyed the Troubadour in the “Lord’s room” I was very relaxed with the lyrics when the play finally started.  The narrator starts out with a great prolog telling about the characters and what roles each person will play. The two main characters in the play are Romeo and Juliet.
As I watch the play I found myself drawn in by the performance it was amazing and about true love, suspense, adventure, and a lot of action. I could feel the performer’s passion. At times I could feel my heart beating faster. Being seated in the” Lords Room” I could hear the actors voices clearly. My favorite part of the play was when Juliet went above the stage walls and into the stage gallery where she performed the scene and says:” O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo Deny thy father and refuses thy name or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I’ll no longer be a Capulet”. Then Romeo says: “Shall I hear more or shall I speak at this?” You can feel the love they have for one another. When Juliet speaks of being with Romeo or she doesn’t want to live. I remembered looking up to the pillars of the roof and Heavens and thinking about how it would feel to know true love.
I was divested the end of the play when both Juliet and Romeo fate was death. Juliet dyes from killing herself because Romeo drunk poison and killed himself. The play has a very good twist in action and the drama that unfolds is sad and unpredictable.
If I could change one thing about the play it would be that Rome and Juliet could be together and live happily ever after. However the play did make me question a lot of things in my own life. Could I ever die for true love? I think I could .I deeply connected with the emotion in the actors from Romeo and Juliet I think true love would be worth living for and without my true love beside me, I don’t think I would want to live. I hope one day you can make a journey to London and join me in the theater. I would except you would enjoy the drama as much as I have. Until we meet again I will keep you informed on the insights on plays in London, while hopefully finding my one true love.

You’re Friend

I was really sad when Romeo and Juliet killed themselves and you did a really good job of portraying your devastation in your work. I liked that you put it what the play made you think and long for and how the suspense caused your heart to beat faster and such. I really enjoyed reading your entry. Good luck in finding your one true love in London!
