Assignment 2 - Blog Portfolio: Whitman's Realism

                                                                         Prayer

Deep in the woods, peaceful, clear mind, meditate.
Down on my knees, weeping, head in my hands.
Tears flow, sorrow face, shame on me, disobedient child.
The Flesh, Repentance, Pray until you pray.
My spot, comfort in prayer, finally an answer.
                                                                Prayer is the key.

  1. This is very evocative and emotional and clearly heartfelt. It doesn't describe the physical characteristics of a place, but it uses the catalog style of phrases that is reminiscent of Whitman's lists. Nice job. What did you think of Whitman's poems?
